Indian captain Rohit Sharma is set to miss the first match of the series due to family commitments. In his absence, Hardik Pandya is billed to lead the side. Ravindra Jadeja is also back in the ODI squad for the first time since he underwent knee surgery last year. While Jasprit Bumrah continues to miss out as he recovers from his back injury.
Pat Cummins is unlikely to return for the ODI series as well. Thus Steve Smith is expected to do the leadership duties. David Warner is also set to be fit for the series. He had sustained a hairline fracture in his elbow during the Test series. Ashton Agar is added to the ODI squad as well. However, Agar did not play any match in the Test series. Glenn Maxwell and Mitchell Marsh will both return to the ODI setup.
