Australia have posted a mammoth 480-run total for India in Ahmedabad. Usman Khawaja was the star with 180 as he continued dominance in the subcontinent. Apart from Khawaja, Cameron Green also hit a terrific century while Todd Murphy’s 41 and Nathan Lyon’s 38 helped Australia amass their highest total of the tour. Usman Khawaja scored his first century against India as Australia ended Day 1 at a commanding 255/4 in Ahmedabad.

In front of a packed crowd that hosted prime ministers Narendra Modi and Anthony Albanese, Khawaja became the first Australian to score a century in this series. In a field day for India, Mohammed Shami was the pick of the bowlers.

Australia are batting first after winning the toss. No changes for visitors. Mohammed Shami replaced Mohammed Siraj in the playing XI for the hosts. No chance for Ishan Kishan as KS Bharat continues his stint in playing 11.

Ahead of the match, PM Narendra Modi enthralled the crowd at Ahmedabad Test. For the fourth Test match, the Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) has prepared a black soil pitch.
