McLaren have not started the season on a high note but they showed massive improvement at the Australian Grand Prix when both their drivers finished in the top ten. “I’m sure they will continue to improve a lot for the Grand Prix in Imola,” said Fittipaldi.

“I was with McLaren in Jeddah, and team CEO Zak Brown confirmed that they’ll continue to get better for each race. For the next four or five Grands Prix. McLaren is running strong but should be stronger at Imola. McLaren was without a doubt the most improved team at the Grand Prix in Australia.”

“Both Mercedes and McLaren know how to work within the new rules. In terms of mechanical grip, they improved a lot. The engine has also improved quite a lot. Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo are going to be strong again. Without a doubt. They have the potential to be on the podium in Imola.”
Last year, Ferrari and McLaren were fighting for the third position in the Constructors standings. However, Ferrari clinched the third spot and leapfrogged McLaren in the 2021 season. But, this year undoubtedly Ferrari have shown immense improvement and they now top the chart in the Constructors standings.

Fittipaldi also thinks Ferrari have a great package this year and looks like a team to win the championship too. “To me, Ferrari has the best package of the year. They look reliable. They look fast in different conditions, on different tracks. They got around the new rules better than anybody else, in my opinion,” Fittipaldi added.
“I have a lot of respect for what Ferrari has done from last year to this year. They focused on this year’s car and it’s showing in the results now. Last year was a frustrating year for Ferrari. This year is the opposite. They are the team to win the championship.”
Round four of the Formula 1 2022 season takes place at Imola. The Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix will start on 8th April and the race is scheduled for 10th April.
