Speaking to Spanish Outlet AS, Gundogan’s agent said that the agreement with La Blaugrana has not yet been reached, but one is close. “I’m surprised about the news regarding an agreement being closed as there’s no full agreement with any club now. It is not yet decided where he will play in the coming seasons. His only focus right now is on Manchester City,” he said.
Gundogas has evolved as one of the best midfielders since joining Manchester City in 2016. The German has shared the midfield area with big names like Bernando Silva and Kevin De Bruyne helping win Manchester City multiple trophies.
Gundogan even stepped up in the 2020-2021 season to a front role and scored 17 goals in all competitions. This year he has already featured in 2,922 minutes for City and has scored 5 goals and 5 assists for his club. City are competing for a treble this year; being 6 points behind Arsenal in Premier League. Their Champions League title and FA Cup hopes are still alive.
