ICC T20 World CUP 2022: ENG vs AUS: England stumbled to 86-5 under dense cloud cover, and despite a late burst of boundaries from Moeen Ali, they were still short of the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern par when the heavens opened. However, England is now exposed in terms of points and NRR due to the defeat by Ireland and the thin margin of victory over Afghanistan.
Australia’s NRR is lower than England’s due to the shattering nature of their own loss to New Zealand. However, if the tournament hosts put together a winning streak leading up to the semifinals, that might not even be a consideration.
