ICC T20 Team Rankings: After a below par showing in the Asia Cup, India delivered the goods in the recently concluded Australia series. Rohit Sharma and co edged past Aaron Finch’s Australia 2-1 to clinch the series. With it, they have extended their lead at the top of the ICC T20 Team rankings. This gap in points has been brought about with England losing their recent T20 match to Pakistan in the fourth T20 on Sunday as well.
Though India lead the ICC men’s T20 ranking table, it is quite close. If England are seven points away from India, the others are not too far away. South Africa and Pakistan are third and fourth on the list with 258 points each.

The Men in Green will be looking to collect maximum points with Babar Azam and co having three more matches against England. The latter will also try and close to gap to India, which makes the race interesting.
As for India, they have another chance to stretch their lead further while the Proteas will also look for important points. The two teams are set to play in a three match series, starting September 28. A clean sweep over the Porteas, though not easy, will push their case in the T20 rankings.
If they do so, India will head into the T20 World Cup as the number one team in the world. The ICC event is scheduled for next month in Australia, and there is some huge points in the offing as well. With it being the biggest showcase event in the shorter format, the competition is expected to of top notch.
