“Mr. Hugh Edmeades, the IPL Auctioneer, had an unfortunate fall due to Postural Hypotension during the IPL Auction this afternoon. The medical team attended to him immediately after the incident & he is stable. Mr. Charu Sharma will continue with the Auction proceedings today,” BCCI said in an official statement.

“The IPL auctioneer is stable, the medical guys are looking at him. He should be back for the mega auction in the next set,” the BCCI media manager informed before a virtual press conference involving owners of Lucknow and Rajasthan.
@14:40 PM: Update from ITC Gardenia, Hugh Edmeades is fine now and there is no internal issue with him.
InsideSport spoke with a BCCI official, who informed us “Doctors are evaluating what exactly happened. I hope, it’s nothing serious. We will only know when doctor gets back to us. For now, he is conscious and stable. We have taken an early lunch break.”

Interest seemed high on the Sri Lankan all-rounder and he had already breached the barrier of INR 10 crore, when Edmeades stumbled to the ground. From the visuals, it seemed that the auctioneer had suffered a cardiac arrest. However, information available with InsideSport, he suffered exhaustion and tumbled. Doctors are currently evaluating his conditions. According to the latest information, Edmeades has regained consciousness.
