Spurs’ chairman Daniel Levy recently addressed the possibility of Kane leaving the club in an interview. He thinks that being a legend is also important along with trophies. Levy said, He (Kane) can absolutely win a trophy at Spurs, but being a legend is also important. The fact that he’s the top-scorer for Tottenham Hotspur, he’s making history. I hope one day there is a statue of Harry Kane outside our stadium.” Spurs last won a trophy in 2007–08 in the form of the EFL Cup.

Kane has scored 273 goals for Tottenham Hotspurs and recently became the club’s top goal scorer. This season he scored 23 goals in Premier League, but still his team is struggling for a Champions League finish. He will be heading toward the last year of his contract after this season.

Levy, who has been Spurs’ chairman for more than 22 years now, also spoke about the club’s vision. He said, “It has been an incredible journey and in the 22 years, Tottenham has progressed enormously. Not as much as a fan we would hope but hopefully the journey is not over and we are still hoping we will get that trophy that we need.”

Spurs are yet to win a trophy in 15 years and the closest they came was under the management of  Mauricio Pochettino and Jose Mourinho. Mourinho guided the team to the EFL final in 2020-21, but was sacked before the finals and Spurs failed to win on that occasion.

Pochettino helped them reach in UCL Final in 2018-19, but lost against Liverpool. He also helped the team achieve their best position in Premier League in 2016-17, where the team finished as runners-up.
