Hardik Pandya Watches: Hardik Pandya on Tuesday morning released a statement saying the rumours floating on social media about his ‘5 Crore Watch seized by customs’ are not fully accurate. The India all-rounder in his statement said that he voluntarily went to the Mumbai airport customs counter to declare the items and pay the requisite custom duty. Pandya further stated that the cost of the watch is approximately Rs 1.5 Crore and not Rs 5 Crore which is being circulated on social media.

Earlier, on Monday evening, reports started doing rounds that two luxury watches worth Rs 5 crore have been impounded from Hardik Pandya on his arrival from Dubai.

However, denying the claims, Hardik Pandya released a statement on Twitter saying, “Early on Monday morning, 15th November, on my arrival from Dubai, after picking up my luggage, I voluntarily went to Mumbai airport customs counter to declare the items brought by me and pay the requisite customs duty.”

Denying any wrongdoing on his part, Hardik Pandya further said that he had submitted all the purchase documents asked from the customs department and has already confirmed to pay the full taxes.

“I had voluntarily declared all the items that I’d lawfully purchased from Dubai and was ready to pay whatever duties that needed to be paid. As a matter of fact, the customs department had asked for all purchase documents which were submitted; however customs is doing proper valuation for duty which I’ve already confirmed to pay,” Pandya added.

Hardik Pandya’s statement on Twitter:

The India all-rounder further went on to clarify that only one watch of worth approximately Rs 1.5 crore has been impounded by the officials. As per earlier reports, two luxury watches worth Rs 5 Crore was said to be impounded.

However, Pandya denied and stated: The cost of the watch is approximately Rs 1.5 crore and not Rs 5 crores as per rumours floating around in social media.”

Pandya went on to say that he has assured full co-operation to the Mumbai Custom officials and will provide all the legitimate documents required in the matter. He also said that all allegations against him of crossing any legal boundaries are totally unfounded.

“I’m a law-abiding citizen of the country and I respect all government agencies. I’ve received all the cooperation from the Mumbai customs department and I’ve assured my full cooperation to them and will provide them with whatever legitimate documents they need to get this matter cleared. All allegations against me of crossing any legal boundaries are totally unfounded,” he added.
