Top Seed Carlos Alcaraz leads first quarter
19-year old Carlos Alcaraz, who won the last ATP 500 Title on clay court this year, which was the Barcelona Open, is looking to add one more ATP 500 title to his kitty. The teenager has been seeded as the top seed and he will face Germany’s wildcard entrant Nicola Kuhn in the opening round.
The only other seeded player in this quarter is seventh seed Karen Khachanov. He will face another wildcard entrant from Germany Jan Lennard Struff in the opening round.
Defending champion Pablo Carreno Busta headlines second quarter
Defending Champion Pablo Carreno Busta, who is the fourth seed headlines the second quarter of the draws. He will begin his campaign by facing Italian qualifier Luca Nardi in the opening round.
Eighth seed Holger Rune is the only other seeded player in this quarter and the teenager will be facing Tallon Griekspoor in the first round.
Diego Schwartzman and Botic van de Zandschulp in third quarter
Third seed Diego Schwartzman leads the third quarter of the draws and the Argentine will face Emil Ruusuvuori in the first round. If he wins the contest, he will be facing either Lorenzo Musetti or Dusan Lajovic in the second round.
Fifth seed Botic van de Zandschulp also finds himself in the same quarter and he will be facing Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in the first round. Jozef Kovalic and Max Rehberg are the remaining two players in the quarter.
Andrey Rublev leads fourth quarter
Second Seed Andrey Rublev, who reached the semifinals at the Bastad Open recently will lead the final quarter of the draw and he faces a tough challenge from Alexander Bublik in the first round. The winner of the contest will face Bastad Open 2022 winner Francisco Cerundolo or Daniel Altmaier in the second round.
Nikoloz Basilashvili, who is the fifth seed is the other seeded player in the quarter. He will face Aslan Karatsev in the opening round. Federico Coria and Daniel Galan are the other seeded players in the quarter.
Women’s Draw
Anett Kontaveit leads first quarter
Anett Kontaveit, who received a wildcard for this tournament is the top seed and she will begin her campaign against Irina Maria Bara in the opening round.
Eighth seed Andrea Petkovic is the only other seeded players in the quarter and she will be facing Tamara Korpatsch in the opening round.
Barbora Krejcikova headlines second quarter
Barbora Krejcikova, who finds herself as the third seed in the tournament leads the second quarter of the draws. She will face lucky loser Suzanne Lamens in the first round.
Sixth seed Varvara Gracheva is the other seeded player in this quarter and she will take on Anastasia Potapova in the first round.
Aliaksandra Sasnovich headlines third quarter
The third quarter of the women’s draws will be lead by Aliaksandra Sasnovich who is the fourth seed. She will face wildcard entrant Nastasja Schunk in the opening round.
Seventh seed German Maryna Zanevska is the only other seeded player in the draw and she has already advanced to the second round and will face a qualifier.
Elena Gabriela Ruse is the top seed remaining in fourth quarter
Second Seed Daria Kasatkina faced first round exit by losing against Katerina Siniakova whihc is one of the biggest upsets in the tournament so far, Siniakova will now meet Brazil’s Laura Pigossi in the second round.
Elena Gabriela Ruse, who is the ninth seed will be facing Bernarda Pera in the opening round. Joanne Zuger and Jule Niemeier are the other players in the final quarter of the women’s draws.
