Ziyech has hardly got play time this season at Chelsea and the situation doesn’t seem to improve even under new manager Graham Potter. The Moroccan star has only played five times in all competitions this season and it’s understandable that the winger is looking for a move away from the club.

According to Italian media, AC Milan have spoken to Sebastien Ledure, one of Ziyech’s representatives. The Serie A side have targeted Ziyech for a long time and it appears they may finally get their man as it is believed that the winger is keen on a January move. Sources in Italy have confirmed that Ledure is on “good terms” with the Chelsea hierarchy and close with Roc Nations – an agency helping Ziyech with negotiations.
Ziyech joined Chelsea in 2020, parting ways with Dutch club Ajax. He signed a five-year deal for £37 million but hasn’t quite been able to establish himself at the club. In his time with Chelsea so far, Ziyech has managed to score 14 goals and provided 10 assists in his 88 appearances in all competitions. As things stand, AC Milan are the only club interested in Ziyech and very much in contention to sign him in the winter transfer window.

Hakim Ziyech nicknamed ‘the Wizard’ started his professional career at Dutch club Heerenveen in 2012. He made his first big move in 2016 when he joined Ajax for a transfer fee of 11 million Euros. The 2018–19 season was the most prolific season in Ziyech’s career, as he scored 16 goals and provided 13 assists in the Eredivisie. He was prolific in the UEFA Champions League as well in the same season and was selected as one of the 20 best players in the UEFA Champions League for his performances that season.

Since joining Chelsea in 2020, Ziyech’s career graph has seen a decline mainly due to lack of game time. The 29-year-old will hope that a move away to AC Milan will facilitate a resurgence in his career.
