Ubisoft launched the Watch Dogs series as a direct competitor of GTA 5. Watch Dogs 2 is a brilliant translation of a modern-city, where players use hacking and perform digital manipulation. Anything can be hacked in Watch Dogs 2 ranging from traffic lights to security cameras and drones.
Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor was released in 2014 by Warner Bros. It is based on the story of J. R. R. Tolkien, and the setting fills the gap between the events of The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. The game offers exceptional open world graphics and combat dynamics which is comparable to some high end titles like the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The game is very well narrated and players can fully indulge themselves into the world of Mordor.
Red Dead Redemption 2 from Rockstar Games offers a diverse landscape from snowy mountain edges to murky swamp waters. The overall game physics and graphical representation of Red Dead Redemption 2 is much superior to GTA 5. The NPCs are much more responsive and will behave with the players depending on how well behaved the player remains. Red Dead Redemption 2 is still one of the most favourite games for open-world game lovers.
