Is Farlight 84 shutting down? Here’s the truth behind the layoff rumors, insider leaks, and the official response from the developers about the game future.

One of the biggest questions that you will encounter in the mobile battle royale gaming community at the moment is whether Farlight 84 is shutting its doors for good. According to rumors circulating on social media, the game’s development has completely stopped, although, as you will soon come to realize, things aren’t quite as simple as that.

Well, the developers have ended the suspense early on, addressing the panic directly. As you might expect, a lot of misinformation has been circulating, and if you’re interested in knowing more, then here is a guide to let you know more about everything going on.

Farlight 84 After The Layoff and Shutdown Rumors

The panic itself is fueled by recent social media posts and leaks from insiders. A user by the name of Quintovski made a detailed claim that, following a massive layoff last year, the remaining 84 developers were recently laid off, leaving only a handful of developers for server maintenance.

What this does is allow players to believe that the insiders have already moved on to a new game codenamed “Sou Da Che,” essentially ignoring the current game.

Of course, this caused a massive uproar. The Farlight 84 player promptly spread the news on platforms such as X (formerly Twitter), even going so far as to take some jabs at the company by stating that they would rather lose their jobs than add the much-requested jetpacks to the game.

The Official Response

So, is the game really dying on April 23? In one recent Discord conversation, one player asked if it was true that the updates were stopping and the servers were shutting down.

One community representative, Farlight 84-CS, immediately responded to this player’s question. So, basically, you receive confirmation that there is no current information to support the fact that the updates will be stopping on April 23.

Additionally, there is no announcement about the shutting down of the game. Of course, one of the best things about this is the immediate reassurance it provides to the player base.
