G4 host Froskurinn takes a dig at the existing “sexism” faced by women in gaming – During the recent G4TV’s Xplay broadcast, former League of Legends European Championship (LEC) shout caster Indiana “Froskurinn” Black spoke about the blatant sexism faced by women in gaming. The G4 host was vocal about pressing issues that female professionals go through regularly in the gaming industry.

In 2021, Froskurinn joined G4TV as a host for their Xplay live show. In the first 2022 live-streamed episode, Froskurinn started by expressing the exuberance she felt after being able to join G4TV in 2021 because she grew up watching the network as a child.

She then took a stand against sexism by elaborating on how she feels like a woman in gaming. “But every time G4 is brought up on various channels, without a doubt, there will be backlash because I’m not as ‘bangable’ as the previous host,” she said.

“It has somehow been expected that you can talk about how much you jerked off to women as a compliment,” Froskurinn explained. “It’s not a compliment! It’s dehumanizing.” She pointed out how women are objectified which is absolutely dehumanizing.

She urged the gaming community to not let their gender bias take control of their judgement. “Women do not exist to be nice on the eyes for you. That’s just obvious sexism. You don’t need to explicitly objectify women or declare that you hate women to be sexist,” said Froskurinn.

“You’re letting your unconscious biases ruin my day and you’re gatekeeping the gaming space. So maybe for 2022, we’ll be a bit nicer, a bit more self-reflective, and we enjoy the fact that people are working hard to make free content for you. If you don’t like it, don’t watch it. Peace,” she concluded.

Froskurinn’s video took the Internet by storm and appealed to a lot of viewers who praised her for talking about such a serious issue.
