Popular data miner iFireMonkey took to Twitter to share a short clip that belongs to a recent XboxEra podcast. The clip from the podcast confirms that a Fortnite x The Last of Us collaboration is in the plan.

Recently a source had contacted @Shpeshal_Nick in regards to Joel & Ellie coming to Fortnite in the near future as a way to potentially promote the launch of TLOU Remake on September 1st.

In the podcast, gamers can see that Nick Baker from the XboxEra speaks about the leaks and rumors. He then goes ahead and confirms that he has been told that there will be Fortnite x The Last of Us collaboration.
“In the interest of The Last of Us leaks, I got told that there’s gonna be a Last of Us Fortnite collab.”
Since the collaboration primarily releases exclusive skins, he revealed that Joel and Ellie are the two outfits in contention. However, it has not been revealed when the collaboration could be expected to hit the island. Nick reveals that the Fortnite x The Last of Us collaboration can coincide with either the remake of the game, or it could arrive during the release of the show.

If Epic Game plans to release the collaboration during the game remake, then we can expect it to arrive somewhere in September. However, if the show is getting the collaboration, then it will be around the first half of 2023.
Developer Epic Games has not yet revealed anything officially. Hence gamers are advised to wait for further leaks to get a concrete idea regarding the same.
