Even if this deal goes through, the partnership will only come into existence in 2026, meaning experienced German drivers Sebastian Vettel and Nico Hulkenberg would likely be retired by then. The other possibility could be Haas’ Mick Schumacher, who has F1 experience under his belt.

However, Mick is tied with Ferrari as their reserve driver for the 2022 season and it seems certain that at one stage, he will drive the red beast. Mercedes’ former young driver Pascal Wehrlein could be a possibility as he races for the Porsche Formula E team and he is likely to be active in 2026 as he would be only 31 years.

The other possibility would be Audi’s very own Formula E driver Daniel Abt – who is young and has got Formula E experience under his belt. He would be 33 in the year 2026. The other German driver is David Beckmann who is fairly young and has got time in his hands.

Though it is a long shot, David Schumacher could also be a possible option. He is the son of former F1 driver Ralf Schumacher and is also young. He is just 20 years old and currently drives for Charouz Racing System in Formula 3.

On Monday, Volkswagen group gave a green signal to their companies Porsche and Audi as they are set to enter F1 in 2026. It came after a gathering of the Supervisory Board of the Volkswagen Group that moved the undertaking into a last period of assessment.

However, how Porsche and Audi will enter F1 is not yet clear. There has been a hypothesis that Porsche could work together with Red Bull, while Audi plans to gain their very own group.
