Formula 1: Former F1 team boss Giancarlo Minardi feels Sebastian Vettel should retire: The four-time Formula 1 champion Sebastian Vettel has been advised by former F1 team boss Giancarlo Minardi to retire from the sport. Minardi said this because he feels Vettel ‘won’t win anymore races’. Follow Formula 1 Live Updates on InsideSport.IN.

Minardi, who is the current president of the Imola circuit said and also a former F1 team boss, said “He (Vettel) was unlucky to have missed two GPs with Covid. In the third one he went out. But he should retire. He has a lot of money. He’s won a lot of titles and he won’t win any more races.”

Sebastian Vettel missed the first two races of the season in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. He made a comeback in the Australian Grand Prix, but did not have a great time as the four-time world champion suffered two crashes, was handed two fines, and to top it all off, he had to retire his car.

Vettel spun into the wall on lap 24 of the race which then brought out the safety car as he parked his car at the side of the track. Besides that, he also locked up 13 laps earlier and ran off the road, and even apologized over the team radio.

The issue, however, is not particularly with Vettel but with Aston Martin, who have not built a competitive car for this season. They are the only team yet to register a point, and if things do not improve, it seems certain that Vettel will not be on the podium this season.
