Formula 1: Red Bull are still angry with Lewis Hamilton for colliding with Max Verstappen in 2021 British GP: It has been nearly a year since Lewis Hamilton collided with Max Verstappen at the 2021 British Grand Prix, sending the latter into the hospital. Tensions had been gradually stewing all through the initial segment of the season, and everything reached a boiling point in Silverstone when the pair crashed at Copse corner, sending the 24-year-old into the divider in a 51G crash.

Red Bull have since been very angry with Mercedes’ British driver, and recently, their chief designer Adrian Newey called it a professional foul. “Silverstone to me was a clear professional foul [by Hamilton] and people seem to have a short memory. They brand an individual and it takes time for that to go,” Newey said.

Newey further claimed that Verstappen is very easy to work with, contrary to the common perception, as he explained “He’s (Verstappen) very easy to work with, very open. You ask him to do things and he will always try.”

“He’s aggressive, but I think generally he’s very fair. He’s got such talent, such drive. He’s still so young. He’s on a steep learning curve still, he’s just amazing. And the best thing about him is he’s just so easy to work with. There are no airs, no pretenses, he just comes in and gets on with it. I love the guy, he’s amazing,” Newey further added.

Meanwhile, Verstappen has won two of the initial four rounds of the 2022 season. He is 27 points behind Charles Leclerc in the Drivers’ Standings after having to retire in Bahrain and Australia due to reliability issues.
