Formula 1: Lewis Hamilton ANGRY at Mercedes after finishing behind George Russell in Miami GP – The seemingly strained relationship between Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes is not getting any better, as the British driver was frustrated with the team’s strategies at the inaugural Miami GP on Sunday. Hamilton finished in P6 behind his teammate George Russell, which irked the seven-time world champion.
Notably, Hamilton had a lot better qualifying session as compared to his teammate, as while he finished on P6, Russell started the race on P12. However, the strategy was much better from Russell’s side of the garage. Hamilton and his team missed a trick by not pitting under the safety car, which eventually cost him what should have been a comfortable P5.

As a result, George Russell got past him very easily as he was on much fresher tires and this did not go down well with Hamilton. What frustrated him more was his race engineer, Peter Bonnington asked Hamilton to decide whether he wants to pit or not, whilst the man from Stevenage feels it should have been his team who should have taken the call.

On being asked about why he did not pit under the safety car, Hamilton said “In that scenario, I have no clue where everyone is and so when the team say it’s your choice, I’m like ‘I don’t have the information to make the decision so that’s what your job is! Like make the decision for me, you’ve got all the details, I don’t.”
“So, that’s what we rely on the guys for but today they gave it to me and I don’t understand it but anyways [I was] just a bit unfortunate on the Safety Car and as I said at least we got points today,” he further added.
Meanwhile, Hamilton has had a poor start to his season and his struggling in the 6th position in the drivers’ championship standings. He finished P3 in the first race of the season at Bahrain, but since, it has been nothing short of a nightmare. On the other hand, Russell has done really well to put himself at P4.
