Verstappen is currently leading in the title race as he is 46 points clear of his closest opponent after only nine races as the victor of five of the last six races. That second-put competitor is Perez, who arose in the chase to become champion after his Monaco Grand Prix achievement.

Meanwhile, he is three points in front of Charles Leclerc, who is as yet viewed as in the race for the title in spite of the reliability issues that have impacted his Ferrari as of late.

Moreover, Verstappen’s strong performances this season and Perez’s great form has put Christian Horner in a difficult spot. But, Horner claims that the balance of power between both the drivers is equal.
“The number one driver is the driver that’s ahead, it’s as simple as that. That’s why Checo got the call on the pit stop [in Monaco] – Max wouldn’t even have had track position for example on that lap. But, our fight isn’t between the two drivers, we’ve got a very competitive Ferrari with two fast drivers in it. Collectively as a team, we’ve got to take the fight and take the challenge to Ferrari, who are looking very quick this year.”
