Albon, who was signed by Red Bull in the mid-season of 2019, compared Verstappen’s driving style to that of Moto GP racer Marc Marquez by saying “This is a weird comparison to make, but if anyone watches Moto GP think of someone like Marc Marquez. He has a very specific driving style and it works for him, and it’s quick. It’s not always the easiest to follow.”

“And if that guy (Max) is always doing well in the car, there is no reason for the team to deviate to something else. When you look at the data, you’d never go there is this, this, and this. He’s just on the limit and he likes a car that is very much on the nose and I think that’s a pretty well-known thing. He likes a lot of front,” Albon further added.
Albon spent 26 races as Verstappen’s colleague from halfway through the 2019 season for the rest of the 2020 season. He was eventually replaced by Sergio Perez in 2021, and after a year behind the curtains, he has joined Williams.

Albon had a tough time at Red Bull and he finished the 2019 season in the eighth position with 92 points. The year 2020 saw little improvement in Albon’s stats as he had two third-place finishes. He also finished seventh overall in the Drivers’ standings with 105 points to his name, but there still was a huge gap in the level of performance between Verstappen and Albon.
Meanwhile, Verstappen claimed his maiden Formula 1 title last year at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. He is second in the Drivers’ standings for this year and has 59 points to his name, while Albon is reeling down in the seventeenth position with just 1 point to his name.
