During the tournament, CR7 was relegated to the bench for Portugal’s final two games against Switzerland and Portugal. Ronaldo has 196 international caps, and has scored 118 goals for the Portugal side. The Al-Nassr striker is reportedly looking forward to continue to play international football and is in no mood to retire following his fallout with ex-manager Fernando Santos.
Roberto Martinez spoke highly of Ronaldo, stating that he is a dedicated player who brings valuable experience and is a crucial figure for the team, regardless of his age.

We’re going to give all the players an opportunity and respect all those who are already in the national team. Cristiano is one of them. I’m delighted to be able to have them by my side. It’s a process that we have to face naturally, with responsibility, and we’re going to make important decisions for the team”, he concluded.
Benfica forward Goncalo Ramos, who scored a hattrick in the World Cup, is also in Martinez’s squad. However, Liverpool’s Diogo Jota and Chelsea’s Joao Felix have not been included in the squad.
