English club Manchester United are set to launch a club-record fee for the Frankfurt striker, as the Old Trafford outfit’s No.9 position is a primary target for the summer transfer. According to the German newspaper Bild, United are willing to bid as much as £105 million for the French International. If the deal goes through as planned, United will equal their previous record transfer of Paul Pogba in 2016 for a similar fee.
Kolo Muani arrived at Eintracht Frankfurt on a free transfer from French top-flight side Nantes FC and has immediately hit the ground running. Upon his arrival at the Bundesliga outfit this season, the striker signed a long-term contract that see him stay at the Eagles until 2027, as Die Adler will only entertain bids around €100 million for his deaparture.

The forward has broken into the National team and made the trip to Qatar, as France made a run to the World Cup final for the second consecutive time, as Muani’s cameo played a big part in the team’s success contributing with three goals and one assist. Moreover, in the final against Argentina, he almost won his side the World Cup in extra time, however, Argentine goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez made sure that wasn’t the case as France No.12 couldn’t find a way beyond.
Speaking to beIN sports last month, Muani revealed that the miss still sticks in his throat and it is something, he said, that will be with him for the rest of his life.
‘I still watch it, I know it off by heart,’ he said. ‘In my head, I said to myself – Randal, you have to shoot now. I tried to shoot towards the near post but the goalkeeper made a very good save. But there were other options.
‘I could have lobbed him, or find Kylian Mbappe [who was free on the left]. But in the moment, I didn’t see him. It’s only when you watch back that you discover the other options. It’s too late. It still sticks in my throat and it’ll be there for life.’

Meanwhile, French giants Paris Saint Germain are believed to be in the race to secure Muani’s service as they eye to bring the French forward back to France, however, it’s Manchester United, who are reportedly preparing the first bid for the striker.
An offer of around £105 million will be a milestone transfer for Eintracht Frankfurt as the deal would eclipse the previous record fee the club received for their former striker Luka Jovic for the £60 million deal from Real Madrid in 2019.
