Leo Messi Transfer: Lionel Messi’s contract with PSG ends soon and there have been a million rumours about the World Cup winner’s future. The most prominent of them have either been Messi’s return to Barcelona or a move to David Beckham’s MLS club Inter Miami. Everyone has been extremely curious about it and both PSG coach Christophe Galtier and Barcelona coach Xavi have been bombarded with questions related to the matter. During the PSG vs Lyon pre-match press conference, Christophe Galtier was asked about Lionel Messi’s future at the club. He said, “What will happen next season, we are working on it a lot, with management, with Luis Campos.” He has indicated that he along with the club management and the club’s football director are working on all matters toward a better future for the club.
Galtier added, “Regarding the future of Leo, there is the position of Leo, of the club, it is discussed between the two parties. I am focused on the 10 matches that come up to get this title. As for knowing what Leo or the club will decide, that remains very confidential.”
PSG have 10 more matches left in the French league. They have a 7-point lead over the second-placed Marseille, so there’s still a good chance that they will win the Ligue 1 title. However, they have been knocked out of both the Champions League and Coupe de France. They have a star-studded squad and yet, this hasn’t been their best season. The coach and the club understand this.
Regarding this matter, Galtier said, “There is what we want to do but there are also the positions of each other, the club, the players. What we need to change quite significantly, what we need to improve quite significantly to be even more competitive.”

Lionel Messi is one of the best players on the planet right now and securing his position at the club could secure a good future for PSG. However, no one has been able to tell surely where he might decide to go at the end of the season. Barcelona coach Xavi was also asked similar questions ahead of their La Liga game against Elche.
He responded, “Messi is an option we are dealing with, and I have a friendship with him. I would like him to come back to help us. If Messi wants to return and is willing to do so, we will talk about it. However, we have not discussed this topic extensively.”
