After Nuno Espirito Santo was fired by Spurs in November 2021, Italian Conte, who had previously played for Chelsea, Juventus, and Inter Milan and won league titles with those teams, was hired. They had a lot of early consistency issues but a six-game unbeaten streak, which included a 3-0 victory over rival Arsenal, helped them finish in the top four. With nine losses, four ties, and 28 league games played, Tottenham’s problems have persisted this season, raising concerns about the team’s playing strategy.

Spurs are only two points ahead of Newcastle, who has two games left, when Conte goes, and they are in fourth place. During his final months as manager of Tottenham, the Italian presented a melancholy image. But last weekend, when Spurs lost a 3-1 lead to draw 3-3 with Southampton, that was the last straw for them.
