Fit to Fat Team India: Notably, Virat Kohl-led Team India is known for its fitness. The Indian skipper has made it clear that fitness will not be an excuse for any player representing India.
“Individuals need to understand the systems that have been created for the Indian cricket team. We should operate at the very high levels of fitness and skills and that’s why this (India team) is top of the ladder when playing cricket, in our country,” Kohli had said during the England tour of India.
“We would expect players to abide by what’s required to be a part of Team India. There shouldn’t be space for any compromise, in that regard,” he had added.
The level of fielding has also improved with the rise of fitness standards in Indian cricket. They have taken the country to new heights whether it’s contributing with bat or ball. India recently defeated Australia in their backyard. They followed it with a win at Lord’s as India looks to win their only fourth Test series in England.
