During the first half, the former Liverpool star sat down on the pitch with a leg injury. He attempted to continue following medical care, but it was decided that he should be removed. Leroy Sane took his position. Mane seemed to be limping as he departed the pitch.

Speaking after the match, Nagelsmann said of Mane: “I didn’t see him after the game, I hope it’s not a big injury. But I don’t know at the moment. We’ll see tomorrow and then give an update.”
The withdrawal of Mane in less than two weeks before the World Cup begins in Qatar is a big source of worry for Senegal – and supporters across the world. He is his country’s talismanic player, and he was instrumental in their Africa Cup of Nations victory earlier this year. Mane’s injury comes only days before Senegal’s Group A matches against the Netherlands, Qatar, and Ecuador.

Mane also helped Senegal qualify for the World Cup finals by defeating Egypt in a second penalty shootout in two months. Senegal would be devastated if his injury prevents him from competing, despite his superb tally of 34 goals in 93 international games.
At the very least, it is doubtful that Mane will play in Bayern’s penultimate match before the World Cup, a trip to Schalke on Saturday.
