FIFA World Cup: England Team FIFA WC 2022 – ‘It’s coming home, it’s coming home’, sang the England faithful throughout the World Cup 2018, before crashing out against Croatia in the semis. The same tune rang around the Euro 2020 as well, with them reaching the final too, but missing out on the final glory, losing out to Italy on penalties. The hope and optimism have always been high for the Three Lions, but it has never resulted in them lifting the trophy. Will Qatar bring about a change in fortune for them? Let’s find out. FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup: All you need to know about India’s opponents…

England TEAM

The talent that the Three Lions possess is perhaps only possessed by a couple of teams in World Football. They have quality in every position that you can think of, and not only that, they also have backups for their main players, who are just as good. Be it, Harry Kane, in front of the goal, Phil Foden in midfield, Reece James in defense, or Jordan Pickford in goal, players are waiting on the bench, who can match the level that these players possess.

Safe to say, the recipe is ready, but is Gareth Southgate the right chef to include these ingredients and make a beautiful dish that will taste glory? Only time will tell.

Group-B

The Three Lions have been drawn in Group B with the USA, their ‘neighbors’ Wales, and Iran. Looking at the group, you would say that it should be a cakewalk for them. Their WC campaign will start against Iran on the 21st of November, followed by their clash with the USA on the 26th and a battle against Wales on the 30th to round off their group stage games.

Team News

As mentioned above as well, their team is looking solid in all categories. It is just about finding the right combinations to utilize all resources to the maximum. The one worry for them would be the fitness of Kyle Walker, who has picked up an injury and seems to be a doubt for the WC.

Trent Alexander-Arnold has been out of sorts for most parts of the season for Liverpool and with his defensive shortcomings, it looks like Reece James will be occupying the RB/RWB position. The midfield will also be one to look at since they have multiple options and will have to pick the best combination out of all the options.
