Ronaldo broke quite a number of records with the feat. Not only did he equal Maradonna’s tally of eight goals but also overtook some other rather special records. Cristiano Ronaldo (37 years, 292 days) is the second oldest player to score in a World Cup, trailing only Roger Milla for Cameroon in 1994. (42 years, 39 days). However, he remains the oldest player to score for a European team in a World Cup, having surpassed Sweden’s Gunnar Gren (37 years, 236 days) in 1958.
Portugal currently lead Ghana by three goals to one as they aim for full points in the opener.
