The Best FIFA Men’s Player for the year 2022 is Lionel Messi. The Argentine and Paris St. Germain superstar received the honour after a historic year in which he led his country to FIFA World Cup triumph. Messi won the award at The Best FIFA Football Awards ceremony in Paris, beating out fellow candidates Kylian Mbappe and Karim Benzema in the voting.

The brilliant number 10 was Argentina’s talisman in Qatar, contributing three assists and scoring seven goals, including a brace in that historic final victory against France. Teammates frequently credited his inspiring leadership as a key element in their achievement. The FIFA Men’s Coach of the Year for 2022 has been named as Lionel Scaloni. Scaloni received the prestigious award after leading Argentina to victory at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar 2022. Following his victory over other candidates Carlo Ancelotti and Pep Guardiola at The Best FIFA Football Awards ceremony in Paris, Scaloni was presented with the award.
The Best FIFA Men’s Goalkeeper for 2022 has been selected as Emiliano Martinez. During Argentina’s successful campaign for Qatar 2022, Martinez served as the team’s final line of defence and was a model of inspiration and performance. The 30-year-old was a standout performer for his country and took home the Golden Glove trophy for best goalie in the competition.

For the second year in a row, Alexia Putellas has received the Best FIFA Women’s Player honour. The midfielder from Spain has been recognised for her outstanding 2021–2022, during which time she led Barcelona to a domestic triple and a spot in the UEFA Women’s Champions League final. Among the finalists, Putellas received more votes than Beth Mead and Alex Morgan.
Following her success in leading England to victory at the UEFA Women’s EURO 2022, Sarina Wiegman has been awarded the prestigious honour. FIFA has named Mary Earps The Best Women’s Goalkeeper 2022. As England won the UEFA Women’s EURO 2022, Earps was one of the team’s top performers. She has also frequently delivered outstanding performances for Manchester United, her club.

Thibaut Courtois, Achraf Hakimi, Joao Cancelo, Casemiro, and Karim Benzema were all named for the first time to the 2022 FIFA FIFPRO Men’s World 11, while Lionel Messi was named for the 16th time. Kylian Mbappe returned to the XI after missing out in 2020 and 2021, and Erling Haaland made it back-to-back selections. Virgil van Dijk and Kevin De Bruyne completed the lineup with their third appearances.
