FIFA 2022 Best Men’s Player Award: FIFA Best Men’s Players Nominees: A 14-player shortlist for the Best Men’s Player award in 2022 has been announced by FIFA. Lionel Messi looks to lead the lines followed by Kylian Mbappe. According to the announcement made by the world football regulatory body, this year’s award will be given based on performances from the start of the 2021/22 season to the end of the 2022 World Cup. Lionel Messi is perhaps the most prominent name on the shortlist after leading Argentina to victory in Qatar. In the previous year’s award, he came in second place to Robert Lewandowski, who has also been nominated once more. Julianlvarez of Manchester City has been nominated for The Best accolade, joining Messi as members of Argentina’s team. Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland, the forward’s clubmates, are also included on the shortlist.

Messi is not the only PSG player to receive nominations; Kylian Mbappe, Neymar, and Achraf Hakimi have all received them. Three players from Real Madrid, the reigning European champions, have made the shortlist: Luka Modric, Vinicius Junior, and Ballon d’Or winner Karim Benzema. Jude Bellingham, a midfielder for Borussia Dortmund and England, is the youngest contender at 19 years old.
