In the 2021 Hungarian GP, it was Alpine’s Esteban Ocon who claimed his first victory at Hungaroring while Hamilton finished second and Carlos Sainz ended on the podium by taking the third spot.

The record for the most number of wins as a driver in the Hungarian GP is held by Lewis Hamilton. He has won eight races so far while driving for McLaren and Mercedes.

Meanwhile, the record for the most number of wins as a constructor is held by McLaren. The Papaya-coloured team has 11 wins as a constructor and Williams takes the second spot with just seven wins to their name. Moreover, Williams is tied with Ferrari as both teams have seven wins.

F1 Hungarian GP: Most wins by constructors’ at the Hungarian GP.

Max Verstappen is still leading the drivers’ standings with 233 points as he won the French GP at Le Castellet last weekend. But, Charles Leclerc had to endure a DNF as he crashed out of the French GP. He takes the second spot with 170 points followed by Sergio Perez who is third and seven points shy of Leclerc with 163 points.

Ferrari’s Leclerc crashed from the French GP and gave the advantage to his this year’s rival Max Verstappen as he extended his lead at the front. Carlos Sainz portrayed a scintillating drive as he finished fifth after starting from the back of the grid due to engine penalties.

But, Mercedes as a whole unit has shown immense improvement since the British GP and have majorly cut down on their Porpoising issues. Hamilton registered his fifth podium finish of the F1 2022 season and finished four times on the podium in the last four races.

F1 Hungarian GP: Max Verstappen won the French GP as Lewis Hamilton finished second followed by George Russell in the third-place.

His best finish of the season came last weekend at Le Castellet where he claimed the second spot and was behind his arch-rival Max Verstappen. Meanwhile, George Russell, the other Mercedes driver has been the shining light for the Silver Arrows as out of twelve races he finished in the top five in eleven races.

Meanwhile, he registered his first DNF at his home race in Silverstone in a multi-car accident on the first lap but other than that he has been out-performing his Brit colleague.
