The seven-time Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton is tied with ex-F1 driver Michael Schumacher for the most number of wins at the Canadian Grand Prix. Both the drivers have 7 wins to their name but Hamilton has a chance to go one better and break the record this weekend.

But, Lewis Hamilton has endured a disastrous start to the 2022 season as his best finish came in the season opener where he claimed P3. From there onwards, he has not been able to live up to his own standards and recently finished P4 in the Azerbaijan Grand Prix last weekend.

On top of it, Lewis Hamilton has not been able to win even a single race this season, and no other than Mercedes the team itself is to blame for this. They have given Hamilton such an uncompetitive car that is not up to the mark and can’t fight against the likes of Ferrari and Red Bull.

The W13 challenger has been severely hit by Porpoising which causes the car to bounce on straight roads. Meanwhile, the Silver Arrows team have not been able to find any cure for this issue and it has led to a stop in their up-gradation of the car.

Mercedes did get some upgrades to the Spanish Grand Prix where they looked relatively lively and their car was going against the likes of Red Bull and Ferrari. But, in the Monaco Grand Prix, things again went bad as Hamilton was not able to find any race pace.

Then came the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, where Hamilton finished P4 but when he came out of the cockpit, he had major back pain and was even in doubt for the Canadian GP. But, if Mercedes can give him a competitive car then he can surely break the record and go on top. However, it looks far from done and we as fans can only hope he comes out of this stronger.
