The first time Azerbaijan hosted a Grand Prix was back in 2016 and since then it has staged five races in total. In 2020, the race didn’t go ahead because of the Covid-19 restrictions. The race will take place in the street circuit of Baku, which is the capital of Azerbaijan. Then in 2017, the race was held under the name of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, which saw perhaps the greatest surprise of the time, with Daniel Ricciardo winning out from Valtteri Bottas and the Williams of Lance Stroll, while Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel engaged in a fierce behind the Safety Car.
