Exclusive interview: Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather: To find new fighters for the 2023 regular season, the PFL Challenger Series will return the following month with eight events. Exclusive: PFL fighter fanboys Conor McGregor

When questioned about what made him a fan of Conor McGregor, PFL athlete Thad Jean responded, “He [Conor McGregor] is the center of attention. He is a cunning combatant, like going up against Floyd Mayweather. You must first participate in dog fights before reaching a stage where you are free of this obligation. Now that the conversation has turned businesslike, you are taking the initiative, talking loudly, and speaking your mind.”

“He won the bout after coming out of the cage. Of course, he lost, but he still earned the most money. Who among us does not need the money?”

All about the PFL Challenger series in the Welterweight category

Welterweights will compete in the first Challenger Series match on January 27, 2023. Fubo Sports Network will broadcast the following events on Fridays until March 17. The venue and location have yet to be revealed; the 2022 events were held in Orlando, Florida. With a grappling victory over UFC star Gilbert Burns on his résumé, Lucas Barbosa (0-0) will compete against Itso Babulaidze in the main welterweight event of the 2023 Challenger Series (2-0).

According to a press release from the PFL, “The 2023 PFL Challenger Series provides world-class players a path to the PFL.” “The Challenger Series continues the PFL’s dedication to discovering the top MMA talent worldwide.”

PFL: Thad Jean squares off against Eric Alequin

On the same card, the unbeaten CFFC champion Eric Alequin (7-0) squares up against the LFA and CFFC veteran Thad Jean (4-0). His most significant professional accomplishment was defeating Taylor, the 2022 Challenger mentioned above Series contract victor and ultimate finalist. Quemuel Ottoni (12-3), the only competitor to defeat current UFC middleweight champion, Alex Pereira through mixed martial arts, will face four-time winner Jozef Wittner (16-2). The talented judoka Mostafa Rashed Neda (7-3) will compete against Nick Alley (7-5), who has won seven matches by submission.

  • Jozef Wittner vs Jean Quemuel Ottoni
