Oliver Glasner’s side were playing in their first European final since they beat Borussia Monchengladbach in the same competition in 1980 and they fell behind in the 57th minute when Joe Aribo took full advantage of some slapstick defending.

The Bundesliga outfit forced extra time at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan 12 minutes later, however, courtesy of Rafael Borre’s close-range finish.
Borre was the hero in the shoot-out as well, the Colombian slamming home the decisive spot-kick after Aaron Ramsey had seen his penalty saved by Kevin Trapp, who had brilliantly denied Ryan Kent late in extra time.

Eintracht Frankfurt win the Europa League for the second time in their history after defeating Rangers on penalties at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan. The German outift had to come from behind to force a shoot-out after Joe Aribo put the Gers ahead in the second half.
Rafael Borre was the man on the spot to convert Filip Kostic’s cross to level the scores. Neither side could force a winner in normal or extra-time prompting penalties.
Aaron Ramsey was the only man to miss from the spot, allowing Borre to play the hero for the second time of the night, dispatching his effort into the top-left corner to secure the Europa League crown and a place in the Champions League next season.
