Modern Warfare 2 is all set to release in the upcoming month of October 2022. The date has been set to 28th October, the same as the release of Warzone 2. Modern Warfare 2 will not be a remake of the Modern Warfare 2019 title but a reboot of the same. The storyline in the 2022 title will take place after the events of 2019.

Activision confirms no Zombies mode coming to Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2
Modern Warfare, developed by Infinity Ward never delved into the realm of the brain-eating undead in Call of Duty. Treyarch has always been the pioneer in that regard. However, some Zombie fans had the notion that this time round Infinity Ward might surprise fans with a reboot of the Zombie mode. However, the PR team has confirmed that no Zombies mode will be added to the game at launch. There are also no plans to add one in the future.

Zombies mode was added with Vanguard and players had mixed reviews for it. Zombies is usually a grinders mode and most players who play it love to unlock completionist camos.

However, Modern Warfare 2 will not offer any such opportunity. The main reason behind this exclusion is the principle behind designing the Modern Warfare series. Modern Warfare is essentially based on realistic gunfights and storylines. Adding Zombies does not really do justice to the theme.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 will launch on October 28th, 2022 for Xbox, PS5, and PC.
