In his speech, Dr. Vinay Sahasrabuddhe stated that two of the eight Asian Games esports titles are prohibited in India due to data issues and that the government should take a more holistic approach to esports and gaming to ensure that India’s flag is represented. Furthermore, he asked for broader consultations in order to establish a sensible esports ecosystem in India in order to promote economic growth and job creation.
