The Canada-born Raducanu was given the honour in the line of her services to Tennis. The British No.1 scripted history in 2021 as she entered the US Open as a qualifier and made it to the main draw. Ranked 150th in the world, she went on to create history by winning the final, without dropping a set in the tournament. She became the first-ever qualifier in the Open era to win a Grand Slam tournament and rose to World No.23 in the rankings.

“It’s been a great to receive my honour today from his majesty the King. I feel extremely grateful,” said Raducanu in her statement after receiving the honour. She received the honor dressed in a Dior black midi dress, crafted from black silk lace with short sleeves. She also wore a boater cap, with her total attire costing £10,000.
After her US Open victory, the spotlight turned entirely on her as she began her first full-year as a Tennis Professional in 2022 in the WTA Tour. She however endured poor results with three second-round exits in Grand Slam and also bowed out from the opening round at the US Open.
She also did not win even a single title in other tournaments as she suffered numerous injuries. Raducanu struggled with a series of different injuries, ranging from blisters to side strains and hip and back problems that forced her to retire from many tournaments. Her poor showing has made her drop to World No.75 in the rankings.
Raducanu ended the season after pulling out of the Billie Jean King Cup this year owing to a wrist injury. She is currently recovering from the injury and has hit the practice courts much recently. She hopes to return to action next month at an exhibition event in Abu Dhabi called Mubadala World Tennis Championship. where she is set to face World No.2 Ons Jabeur.
