The Halo Infinite esports scene has officially begun with the return of the Halo Championship Series. This has reignited the age-old debate among esports fans about whether Call of Duty or Halo is the best among FPS games. Both of these games were developed and released among the public at around the same time. Thus, people have been drawing comparisons between them since their release. While Halo emerged as the first game among the two to successfully develop an FPS esports scene, it was later dethroned by Call of Duty. Now both of these games released their new versions, Call of Duty Vanguard and Halo Infinite Multiplayer, at the same time.

Nadeshot and Dr Disrespect criticize Call of Duty League after Halo Championship Series set records on its return
The Halo Championship Series in Rayleigh has got record-breaking return numbers as a lot of fans and players are watching their favourite teams compete in the tournament. After seeing its successful return, Matthew “Nadeshot” Haag, the co-owner and CEO of 100 Thieves, expressed his disappointment with the Call of Duty League on Twitter. He talked about how Vanguard and the Call of Duty esports took a backstage due to mismanagement.

Along with Nadeshot, even Dr Disrepect, who is known for his FPS streams, talked about how Call of Duty was able to dethrone Halo in the esports scene with the release of Black Ops 2 almost ten years before. Many more people have expressed that the launch of a fresh Call of Duty League just after the release of Vanguard would have attracted more people to the game. This would have helped to develop a community of diehard fans who come to see the competitiveness and not just to plug in and play.
With so many past Call of Duty players pointing out the hiccups, it remains to see if Activision will do something to appease the current community.
