Lakshya Sen vs Kodai Naroka
Lakshya Sen suffered a defeat in straight games against World No.24 Kodai Naraoka to bow out from the Denmark Open. Despite being a higher-ranked player, Lakshya could not even produce his best performance as Naraoka dominated completely to clinch the straightforward victory. Right from the start, Naraoka was leading the contest by a narrow margin and entered the first set break with a 11-9 lead. After the break, Lakshya tried to make a comeback and managed to level the score 14-14 from then on a neck-to-neck battle ensued for a short while, but from 15-15, Naraoka took the lead and closed out the first game 21-17.
In the second game, Naraoka started off with a big lead and conceded just three points to enter the break with a 11-3 lead. Like the first game, after the break Lakshya tried to make a comeback and reduced the deficit to 10-14. But Naraoka quickly stopped Lakshya’s run and took four successive points to yet again take a big 18-10 lead. From then on it was very easy for the Japanese to close out the game as he clinched a 21-17, 21-12 victory to enter the semifinal.

Star Indian men’s doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty bowed out of the Denmark Open Super 750 badminton tournament in the quarterfinals after suffering a straight-game defeat against fourth seeded Malaysian duo of Aaron Chia and Wooi Yik Soh on Friday. The Indian combination fought hard in both the games before going down 16-21 19-21 against the Malaysians.
