The Delhi Capitals skipper is recovering from injuries he had suffered in an accident last year. With a new skipper at helm DC will eye playoff qualification having failed to do so last year. Speaking of this season’s squad DC have retained most of the core players from last season’s squad. The franchisee did smart piece of business during IPL 2023 auction. During the auction, the Capitals signed England’s hard-hitting Phil Salt for his base price of Rs 2 crore.
To strengthen the middle order the Capitals brought in experienced Indian batter Manish Pandey in the mix. In the overseas department Rilee Rossouw, who went unsold in the earlier round, was signed for Rs 4.6 crores. In the bowling department, DC added uncapped Indian pacer Mukesh Kumar for Rs 5.5 crore and veteran Indian pacer and local boy Ishant Sharma for Rs 50 Lakh.
