His current contract, worth £375,000-a-week is set to expire in June 2023 and if he wishes to continue his United legacy, he will have to accept a contract with lesser pay. According to sources, the Red Devils have introduced a “Ronaldo rule” to ensure nobody is paid significantly more than their teammates. Salaries are said to be capped at £200,000-per-week, with David being the first one to be affected.

The 32-year old is said to be offered a ‘take-it-or-leave it’ deal in the region of £180,000-£200,000-a-week. Ronaldo used to earn £480,000-a-week before departing to Al-Nassr.
