Dani Alves, a former fullback for both Brazil and Barcelona, received an 18-year prison term after being convicted guilty of rape. A lady who claimed to have been the victim of Alves’ conduct accused him of sexually assaulting her in a nightclub in Barcelona. On Friday, a court in Spain decided that Alves should remain in custody after hearing the testimony of the woman and another witness.

On December 30, 2022, the veteran from Brazil was accused of sexual assault. The Mossos d’Esquadra de Les Corts police station is where Alves reportedly went to make a statement on the accusations made against him. Alves will shortly appear at Barcelona’s Ciutat de la Justicia, according to the most recent reports. Dani Alves received a prison sentence without the option of posting bail.

Cristobal Martell, Dani Alves’ lawyer told that his client has refuted any allegations of sexual assault on December 30 in the VIP restroom of the Sutton nightclub in Barcelona. He did, however, acknowledge cheating on his wife. Because Alves wanted to keep the information from his wife, he did not provide a more cogent account of the events. Thus, the three conflicting accounts that Alves has provided to this point could be interpreted as an effort by the former Barcelona right-back to conceal his infidelity from his wife.

Alves’ Tenerife-born model wife Joana Sanz, who had defended her husband after he was originally implicated in the alleged nightclub sex attack, abruptly deleted almost all of their together Instagram images. In 2017, the couple got hitched in Formentera, near Ibiza.

Earlier, Joana Sanz, his wife, said in the interview that it seemed good to her that her husband went out with his friends to clear his head:“I know who my husband is, I know how I met him, I know how respectful he is because not even when he was getting to know me did he lack to respect”.

She also stated she observed how women approached Dani Alves in discos or other social settings, and she emphasised that they do so in her presence. Before the prosecutor’s office ultimately decided to detain Alves without the possibility of bail for an alleged sexual assault, the model provided a statement.

According to the Ana Rosa Programme, the footballer has apparently received a divorce petition from his present wife Joana Sanz through his attorney. The reason for the divorce, according to the programme, is not because the footballer is guilty or not, but rather that he has admitted to the infidelity.

It was also said that Alves had turned down the chance to meet his wife or his immediate family. Six people are the most that can enter in the later scenario. The player appears to have likewise ruled out this possibility.
