Harmanpreet Kaur and her antics in scoring runs are not unknown to anyone. Time and time again the middle order batter has come to help India recover from dangerous situations. Against Australia, things were not too different. Set to bat first, India’s opening pair ofSmriti Mandhana and Shefali Verma started off well.
However, India went on to lose quite a few wickets in quick succession with Smriti Mandhana and Yastika Bhatia failing to land big scores. Shefali Verma continued her attack as she managed a brilliant 48 but it was the skipper Harmanpreet Kaur who stole the show with her 34-ball 52-run knock.

The duo of Kaur and Verma went on to build a strong partnership as both the batters hammered boundaries against the Australians. Harmanpreet Kaur’s fiery innings consisted of 8 boundaries and 1 huge sixer. Kaur was then dismissed by Schutt. With the rest of the lower order failing to score, India registered a respectable 154/8 at the end of the stipulated 20 overs.
