Weightlifting sensation Jeremy Lalrinnunga set a Commonwealth Games snatch record with an effortless 140kg lift on Sunday. The 19-year-old national record holder had missed the cut for the Tokyo Olympics, but after an impressive CWG 2022 campaign, the Mizoram-born lifter will eye a berth at the Paris Olympics in 2024.
In May this year, Jeremy Lalrinnunga posted a picture of the CWG gold medal as his phone wallpaper. The Aizawl-born star now has achieved his aim winning the CWG gold. The 19-year-old from Mizoram lifts a total of 300kg to win India’s second gold, in the 67kg division at the 2022 CWG.
