Team India arrive In Birmingham
The Indian women’s team reached Birmingham on Monday. Team India will begin preparations for the high-voltage clash against Pakistan. India will have fond memories form England where they finished runners-up in the 2017 Women’s Wordl Cup.
India will rely on the services of captain Harmanpreet Kaur, Smrithi Mandhana and Shafali Verma. They are the senior pros of the squad.
India had a disappointing outing in the Women’s World Cup in March. They will be hopeful of making amends for that.
India’s journey in CWG 2022
India are in Group A with Australia, Barbados, and Pakistan. Meanwhile, Sri Lanka, England, New Zealand and South Africa are placed in Group B.
India will begin their campaign against Australia on July 29 at Edgbaston, followed by Pakistan (July 31) and Barbados (August 3). The top two teams from the respective pools will progress to the semi-finals. India are scheduled to play three games in the league stage of the tournament starting July 29.
