Cristiano Ronaldo takes massive £6m pay cut to seal fairytale Old Trafford return, – Portuguese icon Cristiano Ronaldo has completed a sensational comeback on Friday after he agreed to join Manchester United in the ongoing summer transfer window. The 36-year-old wanted to leave Juventus with just one year left on his contract and is now set to feature in the Premier League once again with the Red Devils.

Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes played a crucial role in bringing the Portuguese back to England. Earlier reports had stated that the five-time Ballon d’Or winner was joining United’s arch-rivals Manchester City. However, the Red Devils swooped in at the last minuted and shattered all the rumors with their official announcement. He is now set to play under former teammate Ole Gunner Solskjaer this season.

Ronaldo has also agreed to take a pay cut while making the switch from Juventus and joining Manchester United. The Portuguese striker was reported to be on £500,000 per week wages during his time in Italy. However, his current wage at Manchester United is rumored to be nearly £20million a year which translates to just over £385,000 a week.

The fees were agreed upon soon, to conclude negotiations as money was not a major factor for Ronaldo. The five-time Ballon d’Or winner sought a rapid departure from Turin the transfer window shut down.
