Rohit Sharma’s incredible transformation has got everyone talking. There was a time when he physically didn’t look fit, despite him doing the job for the team. Now, he has been incredible in both aspects. After shedding almost 10 kgs before his much-awaited comeback in Australia, Rohit has continued on his fitness journey and looks hungrier than ever to extend his career till the ODI World Cup 2027.
Rohit Sharma says, ‘Mota ho jaunga’ & declines cake
What he is not hungry for is certainly cakes, carbs and calories! Following India’s rampant win in the third one-day international in Vizag against South Africa, the team celebrated with cake cutting at the hotel. Virat Kohli was offered to cut the cake before he gave the opportunity to Yashasvi Jaiswal, who scored his maiden century to seal the run-chase.
Jaiswal gleefully did the honours before celebrating the cake with Kohli, who took a miniscule bite. The southpaw then offered the cake to Rohit Sharma, who was hilarious with his response. Instead of having a bite, Rohit said, “Nahi khale, mota ho jaunga wapis (You eat, otherwise I’ll get fat again.)“
On the pitch, Rohit has been excellent since his return in the Blues of India. Playing competitive cricket after more than eight months, Rohit ended up as the ‘Player of the Series’ in Australia for his 202 runs at an average of 101. Then in the home series against South Africa, Rohit blasted two more half-centuries, taking his tally to 148 runs at a strike rate of over 110. Amidst all this, Rohit entered the 20,000-run club for India as well in Vizag.
