The prime target for the India Cricket Team will be to lift the ICC Champions Trophy. Ahead of India’s first game of the tournament, captain Rohit Sharma has sent a wonderful ode to the Indian fans. He recounted his side’s success in the T20 World Cup 2024 and now wants to gift the fans something even more special by lifting the Champions Trophy.
Team India broke their ICC Trophy jinx in 2024 after lifting the T20 World Cup at Barbados. This was India’s first ICC silverware after 12 long years. India had previously won the Champions Trophy in 2013. Rohit Sharma recounted how the fans felt like champions after the Men in Blue beat South Africa in the finals.

“From Barbados to India – We were made to feel like Champions, and we felt like Champions, along with us, I am sure, you felt like Champions too, months later, we begin our quest to become champions once again, we have trained, tournament mandates done, now it is time to go all out on the field, for the team, for you fans – and for the nation that will be chanting our names, as always – so, let’s do this again, you & us – let’s be champions together,” Rohit Sharma said on a video posted by the BCCI.
Right before India started their journey in the ICC Champions Trophy, the BCCI posted a video. Rohit Sharma has recounted a heartwarming ode for the Indian fans to continue lending their support to the team.
He claimed that the team is ready with proper preparations to hit the ground. The Team wants the fans to chant their names like they always do. He believes that the support would work as a bonus in helping stimulate the side to challenge for the title.
